World Backup Day is Tomorrow!

We’ve talked about this may times and now you have an annual reminder.

March 31st is World Backup Day.  Just like changing batteries on your fire alarms during daylight savings, the day before April Fools Day is the date to remember to check that your backups are working properly.

Even after a number of years of our (and the tech community) “preaching” how important it is to back up your data, some people still are not.  Your computer can break suddenly. Your backups may not be saving the stuff you really need.  Take this day to confirm you’re protected and rest easy for a bit anyway.

Online backup is our best recommendation. It’s inexpensive, even the backups are backed up again, and you can recover it from anywhere in the world.

Cost for most people: $60/year.

Happy World Backup Day!

Does my business need a server??

A server is designed to hold, manage, send and process data.

If you share information with others in your office, a server is more reliable than a PC.  It also offers more capabilities than a desktop acting as a server.  You will see a performance boost in access to information.  You will see a much more stable, dependable environment.

When do you need a server?

Not all companies need a server.  We generally gauge any offices over 3-4 computers as potential candidates for a server.

Information is centralized, not scattered.  Backups are much improved so that you don’t lose information.  And staff communication can be evolved into an entirely new realm of productivity.  Of course, security is greatly enhanced.

Though not mandatory, a server is a logical step in company growth and should be considered in any long range plan.  Definitely worthwhile if the goal is to streamline information and increasing uptime.

Online Backups. Again.

Yes!!  It is THAT important, that we will keep hounding you on it.  Who does not has an ONLINE backup in place?

Our goal is for everyone we know to have in place a solid backup plan.  Key point – a backup that is off-site.  It’ll cost you 12 cents a day.  Less than a buck a week.
